It's been a while since I've updated this page, so in the spirit of Spring cleaning, I'm resolved to Make An Effort:

Making art is my way of understanding relationships. Since coming home to the Northwest, away from Minnesota and it's meteorological extremes, many things have shifted. Relationships, philosophies, serotonin levels--all drifting, sliding, transforming.

My earlier works shown here draw upon portraiture as a meditative process; some are studies of animals or explorations of ideas, but after re-familiarizing myself with the medium, I let my work flow in an increasingly emotive direction. All of the human forms I included are people I know and love; many are artists themselves. Parents, friends, whales, and birds; these are things that crowd my mind when living far from home.

But now I'm back! And I feel freer, lighter, more hopeful. Expect more updates to come, with experimentation into new printmaking techniques.
